What is a brand guide?
Every company, big and small, needs a set of rules and guidelines to maintain a strong brand identity. That's where a brand guide comes in. It's a comprehensive document that explains everything about your brand, from how you look to how you talk about yourself out in the world.
Brand guides can vary in size from a few pages, to a few hundred pages. Sometimes they are completely digital. Here are a few key elements you can expect to find inside: An overview of your brand's history, vision, personality, and key values; mission and statements, positioning statements, voice and tone style, logo usage, color palette, fonts and typography, and web guidelines.
Before we build a brand guide, we need to get to know you. We identify your goals, learn about your company, and come up with a plan for moving forward. In many cases, we begin with a brand strategy — then create all of the elements, including a logo, color palette, typography, and messaging. Once the foundational assets are complete, we begin crafting the guidelines.
The purpose of the guide is to provide everyone in your organization with a clear set of rules for presenting your brand to the world. From customer service and marketing to sales and finance, a brand guide will help ensure consistent branding, from voice to visuals.
